Buying a new pc power & cooling silencer 750w psu, and am currently using an older enermax psu. Is it safe to mount these and other power supplies on they're side, like in the antec p190 case? or will this cause problems as opposed to top mount or bottom mount?

Thanks.

no problem...there are other cases where the PSU mounts on the side...Silverstone TJ07 for example and several Lian-Lis

I've been using an old enermax for a week on its side, no problems so far. Picking up a new pc power & cooling silncer 750 in a few days, I'll give it a go. I've just heard horror stories about running psu's on they're side before.

As long as it has a fan on inside the supply you can mount it upside down, right side up or at a 22.32 degree angle :)

I usually draw a big arrow on the case to tell the electrons where to go. Saves delays. Greasing the wires helps too.

I go with the big neon sign.
Really gets those electrons moving.

When heatpipe coolers started appearing on the market, my friend was saying that "they didn't work as well in certain orientations." For something like a PSU, you could stick it where the sun don't shine and it should work. For the heatpipes, those things were developed in the '50s and '60s for NASA!
