is it safe to leave drano in your tub?

so this morning poured some Drano down the tub. Forgot all about it and left for work. Is it safe to leave it, or should I go home and rinse it out?

You might eff up your tub's surface. Someone (not me this time) in the house left some washing/cleaning fluid in a sink once for an hour as opposed to the directed 5 minutes. To this day there is a stain in the sink where the chemical sat. Just looks ugly, no real problem.
