Is it safe to keep a plasma TV in a location where it gets hit with direct sunlight on a daily basis? I did a few searches online, and found some documentation that state direct sunlight could degrade the UV coating on the screen. Is this the only concern, or could direct sunlight cause image burn in or otherwise damage the screen over time?

are you leaving the TV outside? If inside you can surely find ways to mask the sunlight...at worst a window will have some UV protection.

If outside you may want to look into an enclosure for the TV, the sun would be the least of my worries. (I.e. wind, rain, extreme temp differences, etc.)

I'm not sure how UV exposure could degrade a coating specifically designed to block UV. Sunglasses don't "wear out." The only thing I *might* worry about is heat. But if it isn't getting much hotter to the touch than when it is operating, I really wouldn't worry about it. We're not talking about sensitive art preservation for future centuries.
