Is it safe to install the VIA PCI IDE Bus Driver (Windows 2000) with the new VIA 4-in-1 4.31s?

Also, when I install new drivers should I first uninstall the old ones (it gives you the option to either install or uninstall).

why would you install the via busmaster drivers in w2k. Every benchmark has shown that the w2k drivers are faster.

Ok, just checking. Are the W2k drivers you speak of the default ones?

Thanks.

Dually - I don't know where you are coming from. But the VIA busmasters have been much faster on my system in Win2k.

Mosdef - I have had no problems with the busmasters since 4.28

Ok so I should install them then. I have Win2k SP2 installed and I'm running an A7V.

Yes, I always choose to not install them. They actually hinder performance on my system.
