Is it safe to edit an ISO file?

Hi. I have an ISO image, and I want to delete one folder in that ISO image. I notice that UltraISO has the ability to edit a ISO image, so it might delete that one specific folder for me. Should I use UltraISO to do it? Will edit an ISO can corrupt that whole ISO image?

Or should I go with the traditional way:
1. Extract ISO out into an folder
2. Delete the file I don't need.
3. Burn the whole folder back to CD-R.
4. Use a program to create an ISO from that CD-R.

thanks

Just try it using UltraISO and save the modified ISO under a different name. If that doesn't work, then just do it the traditional way.

Oh, I just notice that UltraISO (as well as MagicISO) can extract ISO into a folder, and also create an ISO from folder files as well.

I'm set. However, which program is better? MagicISo or UltraISO?

I'd also be interested in which program is better. I've abolished the floppy drive from my computers entirely. At present, I've got all the bootable CDs I need, but the ability to modify the ISOs with updated software etc would be a boon.
