Is it safe to eat leftover Chinese food?

So last night I finally tried out the little corner Chinese place down the street from me. Their small portions are pretty big, so I have quite a bit of chicken fried rice left over. I don't have any sort of container or wrap, so I just closed the cardboard lid and put it in the fridge. Am I tempting illness if I heat it up and munch away? I don't want to wait 90 minutes for a pizza (blizzard here in Chicago).

Nuking it will be fine. It should kill the salmonella, e-coli, strep, staph and any other stuff that might be floating in the leftovers.

???
It's from last night.

It'll be good tomorrow, the next day, a week from now it'll still be good IMO (yes, in those cheap things they give you)

You not get Chinese food often or something?
Is it the area or something? I get Chinese food at least once a month. If I get enough of it it'll be good for a few nights (a week after I got it)

I do it all the time. If there were no chinese takeout and pizza places I would probably die of starvation.

Nothing wrong with eating leftovers. I left a slice of pizza on a plate in the dining room the whole night and I still ended up eating it for lunch.

I know. I have a bento box from a Japanese restaurant last night that I forgot to put in the fridge (I fell asleep before brushing my teeth), and so I stuffed it in today. Chicken and salmon teriyaki are too good to waste. It's going into my lunch tomorrow.
