[edit] Updated: I decided not to eat the hotdogs*, but I also neglected to expend the physical effort required to throw them away. Result:
============================================
I have a brand new package of hotdogs* in the fridge but there appears to be a substantial amount of air in the package.
This is the type of package they're in:
Except instead of the package being firmly enclosed around the wieners there's enough room for them to slide around and I can even separate them. Normally the plastic is firmly securing the dogs. I cannot recall if I purchased them this way or not since I did not look.
There is no smell and I can find no apparent hole in the package. The expiration date is no where near.
Are these safe to eat?
