Is it really worth another $25?

I am about to get a considerable amount of cash in the next few days. I am going to get a new motherboard and some memory. I have been contemplating for some time wether I should go with the Shuttle AK31 or the EPoX 8KHA+. Now back to the topic; is it really worth another $25? I am still not sure wether I plan on overclocking or not. Even if I do, I don't think it will be that heavily. Though, I do plan on running some Crucial memory at the most agressive timings I can.

I'm running an AK31 v3.1 at the most agressive memory timings with 2x256 MB Crucial DIMMs, and I have no problems. I'm not overclocking anything else except my video card, though. My system performs beautifully with the Shuttle board, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good Athlon DDR board.

I have read several reports about the Epox 8KHA+ that it doesn't work properly. I myself, would suggest the Shuttle AK31 if those 2 boards are the only ones you are looking at. If not, then I would suggest the ECS K7S5A, its very cheap and it has the sis 735 chipset.

I like the Shuttle Board...very stable...I wouldn't pay the extra $25 for the Epox, although you won't go wrong with either board.

I like the Shuttle board, too. Built 10 of 'em so far, not a single problem.

The person who suggested the K7S5A is funny. That board must qualify for some type of "most problematic piece of hardware of the year" award. And you can forget overclocking at all, ever, with that board. BTW, I've built 6 of those and 3 have failed completely after running for 2 to 5 weeks.
