Is it really that easy to kill someone by snapping their neck?

Steven Seagal, and the other night Jack Bauer, (plus coutless other BAMFs) seem to be able to easily kill people by simply snapping their necks sideways. Is this true?

Yes. Very easy.

You have to make sure to first snap sideways, then jamb the now unhinged vertibrae deep into the basal cavity.

Done.

Haha, no not at all. In BJJ we get all sorts of pressure put on our neck all the time and there's rarely any injuries. Occasionally someone pulls a muscle or something, but that's the worst I've seen.

Isn't this something you should already know? I mean your name is "TheNinja".

I should point out that for me it is VERY easy. But everything about killing and wailing on guitar (not too mention porking) is easy for me. I wanted to get a feel of how easy it is for mere mortals.

what ever happen to just punching someone in the nutts? Or is that worse than the neck snap?

I think I would rather the neck snap. God forbid if someone tried both!!

Ever dissected a cadaver or studied anatomy? It takes an enormous amount of force applied very precisely to snap a neck. Now, jamming someone's nasal bones into their frontal lobe, that's another matter.

I think your ninja charter should be revoked if you're asking this. Oh and some old marine did snap a guy's neck while on vacation in South America a couple months ago.

I'm somewhat skeptical of the nasal bone into brain thing. If you've ever watched Muay Thai, people get knees driven into their nose on a trajectory directly toward their brain all the time, and I've never heard of anyone getting anything worse than a broken nose.

I doubt it - necks are evolved/designed to be pretty strong. In any case it would be easier just to crush the windpipe or carotid arteries if you had access to the area.

Necks didn't evolve for the purpose of being strong. Thats was just the result of evolution.
