Is it really necessary to install the AMD agp patch in Win2K ?

I needed it to make 3D Mark and other benchmarks not lock up within minutes of a single test.

After the patch I can run the tests overnight, stable.

I wouldn't even call it a patch. It's just a single registry key that sets an AGP configuration value differently than before. You could type it in yourself if you felt like it.

Definitely install the patch. It takes all of four seconds to download and two seconds to apply. It's a no brainer.

I installed it, but it lowered my Q3 scores, so I uninstalled it again. If you´re not having any problems I´d say you don´t need it.
