is it really a sempron?

the chip says sempron on it, and it says sempron when i boot in my bios. cpu-z v1.24 is supposed to recognize it as a sempron but it does not. see below...

btw, this thing passed a 24 hour 3dmark01 test at 200 fsb x10 = 2.0 ghz.

semPR0N = tbred core
many AthlonXPs = tbred core

For all intents and purposes: semPR0N = AthlonXP

Maybe you need a newer version of CPU-Z? or CPU-Z doesn't recognize semPR0Ns yet.

cpu-z v1.24 is supposed to recognize sempron processors.

Yes your cpu really is a sempron if it says sempron on the cpu, I used cpu-z with a sempron 2800 and it also reported it as a thoroughbred which is what it really is.

"Sempron" is a brand name, as is "Athlon." ThoroughbredB is a chip core type, as is Barton, Thornton, Morgan, etc.

If it is a Sempron 3100 then it = crippled Athlon 64, not XP

no they are making some thouroghbred cores and calling them semprons for socket A. the 3100 actually is a crippled athlon 64, which is pretty good
