Basically, all of us don't trust one of my roommates and the internet runs through his room. Is it possible to run some sort of software to kill our ping times? For some reason the cable modem is hooked straight into his computer in 1 network card, goes out the other into a hub, that goes straight into our hub. For some reason all our ping times are crappy and his isn't...
 
wrong forum? and its quite simple, you buy a DSL/Cable router, plug his computer directly into the router, and plug your hub into the other router. And make sure you set it up, and set the admin password on the router, and he can't touch a thing.
 
It was setup that way...I had wireless too but he got pissed off that I used it all the time so he said something was wrong with the router, said it wouldn't work and plugged a whole bunch of sh1t into his own computer and now my ping times are in the 800's. He locks his door so I can't just go in and fix it when he's gone and when hes here he won't let me do it becuase he insists AT&T jacked with their settings to make it not work...
