Is It Possible?

I know that you can run one OS from another with something like VMWare, but could you run two physically separate systems through one monitor, and simply switch back and forth through the keyboard or mouse, without changing connections? Assuming that some kind of splitter is available for the video connections.

I just thought, that one requires a wired mouse, which I hate. I didn't see one on Newegg, but is there one that would allow me to use a wireless mouse? If not, could I use this in conjunction with Synergy? All that I really need to physically connect is the monitor, if Synergy and the KVM could get along together.

...why would the KVM prevent you from using a wireless mouse?

If it's a USB-only mouse, you may be able to use a USB->PS2 converter (might not work with the wireless), or you can get a KVM with USB ports as well (costs more but should work).

Matthias99,

To answer your question, I would have to answer my own, and I haven't thought all of this out yet. I had problems when I connected the receiver to the PS/2 port on the unit, It seems to work better connected to the front USB. I will look for a KVM with USB, but I only wanted to know if there could be any kind of conflict between Synergy and a KVM? I do have several wireless mice, but it would be nice not to have to shuffle them around.
