Will this increase cooling or will it make it worse? Or will there be no change at all?

Like putting too many case fans in or placing them poorly it tends to simply mix up the air flow and simply spin the warm air around rather than get it out of the case. In any case 1 larger fan is far superior to 2 smaller fans.

i remember that a few heatsinks had the dual fan design........however, it didn't work well

I remember something about them needing to be spinning in exact synch for it to be an improvement...

Makes sense since the blade of the one above would block the airflow of the one below. Wouldn't be as efficient as possible.
