Is it possible?!

i was wondering if it was possible to have 2 cable modems on the internet at teh same time. heres my scenerio:

I have several timewarner cable (tv lines) around my house and i want to put a second cable mdem on one of them so i could have an easy access with that modem. if i did that i would be having 2 seperate cables on at the same time in the same house on the same cable TV network. I have 2 IPs comming from Roadrunner and right now the first cable modem is running a router off it.

So my questionis if i got a second cable modem would it work if i had em both on?

You can't have two cable modems on the same main service, as far as I know, meaning you can't have the single line from the cable company come into the house and just use a splitter to allow two modems to be connected.

Even if you could, you'd need to set up some sort of device (there've been a few discussions in this forum recently about these) that allows you to use two separate connections simultaneously on your LAN, otherwise you'd either have to manually switch them over to use the other modem, or have some systems using one while the other computers use the other modem.

Actually, most cable companies will let you have 2 cable modems connected. However, you need to have a separate account and pay full price for it.
