Is it possible yet to get a 17,000 to 20,000 3dmark2001SE score on the ATI 9700 pro at stock speeds yet ?

I know the cpu is bottlenecking the ATI 9700 pro a lot but would it be possible to get at least a 17,000 3dmark2001SE score at 1024x768 resolution with like a 3.5 to 4 ghz cpu, fast memory, etc? No FSAA or AF on. I know 3dmark2001SE doesn't matter much. I just think it would be nice to have all that safety net room when you turn on FSAA and AF!

My 3023MHz P4 already does 16400, so it wouldn't be too big of a deal to get a 3.5GHz model to do more than 17000.

well, I built a 3.06Ghz P4 system on ASUS P4PE at 150Mhz FSb DDR400 2-2-2 and got a 17,600 or so score. It was not my machine and I don't have it here to retest. no overclocking on the Video

While I've never run at those settings, I'm sure it wouldn't be 10000+. I remember doing 4x or 6x FSAA and 16x AF(quality) at default 1024x768 resolution and already it was below 10K. You'd probably need an overclocked r350 to get more than 10000 at those settings

Goi ok. Well the R350 will be out soon i hope! Goi plus the ATI R400 may be released after July! Thats the month right after the Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines is released!


Do you know how many fps you loose at 1024x768 resolution + if you turn on all the details to maximum. Plus use at least 4x FSAA and 8x AF on the ATI 9700 pro with having only pc133 sdram , Athlon XP 1800+ cpu, and KT133A chipset mobo ?

You'll lose almost half the performance I guess. I think I got like 8000+ or 9000+ with 4x/6x FSAA/16XAF(quality) compared to the 16400 I get with no FSAA/AF at 1024x768. I wouldn't know about that particular setup since I'm on a P4/i845PE setup with PC3200 DDR-SDRAM.

Goi ok i just thought when turning on FSAA and AF makes the video card more the bottleneck than the ram.
