Is it possible to work out all day everyday? Without injury?

Hey everyone!

Well i've been outta shape for about a year ever since i got a back injury while in taekwondo for 6yrs. I'm wayy outta shape now and i wanna get backinto shape asap. I'm just wondering if i workedout on all my spare time if it's like.... safe?

Like if i woke up streched, ran a mile, did situps, pushups, weight bench, free weights, take a 20-30mins break, run, situps, pushups, wieght bench, free weights, 20-30min break ect ect.

I'd just do that allllll day! till i went out to the mall or somethin wit my friends. Would that make me more prone to injury? I wanna get in shape ASAP!!!!

you will definitely injure yourself and will have minimal gains. don't be a retard and try to cram a year's worth of working out into 4 weeks. ease back in, reform good habits, and stick to a program.

It's possible to train yourself at extreme levels. But be aware that the more you work out the less time you give your body to heal itself. Eventually it will adapt but you raise the chance of an injury. Then when you do injure yourself it takes you longer to return to the point you previously were at. I'm speaking from experience here.

Look at Kurt Angle. He trained insanely for the olympics and competed with a broken neck and now has more injuries than titles. He keeps himself at a high training level but his body has paid the price.

I would be impressed if you could go all day like that. All day that is.
Take that outtta context and whew lets no go there. But with breaks? c'mon i'd prolly only be workin out on free time so thats like 4-5 hours a day with breaks inbetween. Not that hard eh? Justwondering if i'll mess myself up. stretching prevents injury 🙂!

Soooo, basically u guys are saying i should do this everyother day or what, i could use some suggestions not just critizism!

Your workouts need to be more demanding. You should not be able to come back after an hour and lift weights again. I think a hour of Cardio in the morning and a solid hour of weight training in the late afternoon works best.

Stallone was juiced up for Rocky 3. All the pretty boy Holloywood types were on the juice back in the eighties/early nineties.

cardio cuts down on strength gains. keep it to 20-30min a day at the most.

also for your muscles to grow they need rest. overtraining will only slow growth. it is counter-productive

Get yourself a blue collar job... Construction, auto mechanics, etc...

It's just like working out all day.

Btw, if you've had a back injury and are considering overdoing a workout... Then you are just asking for trouble.

too much working out = no resting. muscles get bigger stronger because you break them down and they regrow. No time for that = no gains for all your hard work. Train smart, not long.

Be careful on your first day of training. If you go all out, you'll be sore and IN PAIN for the rest of the week. Start out light and move up the scale as you go day by day.

Take it easy, especially at first. As you get back into shape you will be able to work out for longer and harder with less risk of injury.
