Is it possible to use the same hard drive on multiple 360s?

So I'm visiting a friend for a few days and want to take my 360 saves with me. Will my hard drive work with his 360, or am I going to need a memory card?

Your HDD will work on your friend's 360.

You'll need to be logged in to your account though if you want to play any Arcade games though. Otherwise, they'll just be the trial versions.

You can use your drive - it will be as if it is your console - though as Queasy said, you won't be able to access any downloaded content unless you're signed into Live. You can't, however, use both of your gamertags without using a memory card and transferring yours to his drive or vice versa.

Does one have to transfer the gamertags to the same HD? I was under the impression that a gamertag could live on a memory card permanently and be used at the same time as an HD.

No, you can have your gamertag on a memory card as well.
