Is it possible to use both auxiliary out and bluetooth in the car?

Hey guys. Sorry if the title was unclear. What I'm wondering is if it's possible to use the steering wheel controls on my car to control the volume and track but use the cable so I can have better quality over my speakers than bluetooth. Is this doable? Thanks!

No idea (probably not).
Including the vehicle and phone involved might help.

I have a 2012 GTI. Don't think so. You have to pick one or the other. I know, it sucks. I almost never use my phone and have my iPod tethered instead. Using Android phones as media players in general doesn't get as much love as iDevices. With that said, the bluetooth audio quality was pretty decent when I tried it?

Sunroof nav... i only got that because I didn't want to deal with aftermarket HIDs... lol. Lemme know which ones you decide to put in because I have a buddy who's interested too!

Not for android that I know of. As stated many car systems recognize iphone/ipods through the USB cable but that seems to be where it stops. Do you not have a USB port? I personally just put music on a USB drive and use that.

Also, why do you say your line out quality is that much better? The A2DP systems I've heard have sounded just like I was plugged in via the aux input. Maybe you should try a different media player on the phone to see if it helps. I personally recommend PowerAmp, as to me I have yet to hear anything better than the Direct Volume Control poweramp offers. Streaming via bluetooth gets you the same equalizer settings as what's applied to the headphone jack, so it sounded identical to me.

in regards to bluetooth a2dp, bear in mind that if you're running AOKP or CM or their variants, bluetooth output can be broken. (maybe its just broken on the s3 though). I was running an AOKP variant and bluetooth was unusable. Now I have flashed back to a stockrom variant and it works perfectly.

Well you can control your android phone with AVCP over bluetooth via a 30 to Bluetooth converter if you have an ipod cable in your car. From there you'll just have to see if you can get simultaneous output.

Actually my friend was complaining about the audio in my car and he said it was cause of BT. Personally I'm unsure as to whether this is the case, or maybe the speakers on my car just suck. I'm not sure the USB or separate media work for me as I'm totally a Pandora/Spotify guy.

I use BT for all the audio coming from my phone (Moto Atrix 2, ICS) to my head unit (Pioneer) and it sounds very good. The music (even uncompressed FLAC) does not sound as good as CD, but better than my old iPod did via the Aux jack. Have not streamed while driving, as I live in a rural area and have a limited data plan.
