Is it possible to use ATX power supply in a AT case?

I have a enlight AT case, and a ATX mainboard. I was wondering if I could just replace the power supply in the case to a ATX power supply and make them work together. But I remembered there was this cable connecting the power switch and the MB in my ATX case setup. So does anyone know how I can do what I just mentioned? If anyone know where I can read up on this information that would help too. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks all

Sure, just replace the power switch in the AT case with one for ATX. Or you can use the AT switch to switch pin 15 of the ATX PS to ground.

Either way, you then have to worry about making the ATX mobo fit to the back of the AT case. Not impossible but a real pain in the rear :D

EMjem is right. Take a look at the back of the case. You may not find the right holes for the connectors on an ATX mobo..

if it's an AT board with both power connectors, quite easily. If it's an actual ATX, don't bother, just get a new case.

Assuming the first, you just want a momentary contact switch for the power switch. So you can replace the AT power switch, or, use the reset switch. You might want to gank a reset switch from another AT case though, since that would leave you with no reset switch...

An ATX power supply will be a perfect fit if the case uses the most common type of AT supply, which measures the same dimensions as an ATX supply and has a 120VAC power switch attached to a cable. You'll need a momentary on-off switch, and a low-voltage, single-pole type is fine (like a reset button).

thanks alot guys for the information. I was mainly looking for how to get the power switch to work. As the video suggested using the reset button to replace the power switch seems to be a good idea. Once again.. thanks
