Is it possible to use a symbolic link in a webpage

I have ssh and created the link, but I get a forbidden error when I try to acccess it.

sure.. it should work. Is the original page viewable (and do you have "read" permissions for it)?

yes its a zip file. the main one works fine, but my symbolic one give me the 403 error now the link is 777

is this appache? there is a security option for allowing symbolic links to be followed. Do you have access to the settings for the webserver?

yeah its apache, its not my server though. I'll talk to the guy who owns the server tomorrow
