Is it possible to use 3 or (gasp!) 4 5970s on one system?

Using either P6T7 or Classified 4 way SLI (both have 7 PCI-E 16X slots with TWO NF200s. The board is capable of physically fitting the cards however what about the CF bridge?

I watched the video . It says it wasn't crossfire?

Looks like ass on those monitors.

AMD really needs to discuss "ultra thin bezel or no bezel" with the various LCD manufacturers.

I used to wonder why they didn't do this sooner, but that recent RV870 article cleared up a lot for me (re: Eyefinity was an internal secret at AMD almost to product release).

I was chiefly interested in using raw GPU power for encoding processing not video output.

for compute purposes i dont believe you need to run them in "crossfire" mode in order to use every GPU for compute purposes. i know nvidia CUDA doesnt have this limitation, which is why you can have a 4 GPU Tesla cluster when the limit on SLI is 3 GPUs for graphics rendering (+1 for physx but that's just doing CUDA computations). i dont see why ATI would be any different

Ruby, pretty soon you'll need the complete power output from the cruise ship's engines to power your rigs o_O
I demand that you put "Cruise Ship" as your PSU under your rig details :p

Oh there's plenty of power to spare! Having 230VAC is very nice as a 9A rated cord takes a system to the sky! :D

Sounds like you would be better off with cuda cards or fermi then!

404, Fermi not found. ;)

Speaking of CUDA I had failures with several 295GTXs. Not sure if they can take 24/7 full GPU load with the stock cooler. We're talking SNAP! Total system shutdown, smell of electronic parts burning! This is probably why there are no dual GPU QuadroFX products.
