Is it possible to upgrade from Vista Enterprise to Vista Ultimate

I have an issue with my specific HW it seems that won't let me actually do an upgrade to Vista Ultimate from either the "Clean Install" method out there or actually upgrading from XP or another version of Vista since it fails each time it starts the upgrade process which must be run from within Windows.

I know you can change your product key in Vista but was wondering if it'd be possible to take a Enterprise full install of Vista and then switch to my Ultimate upgrade key I paid for as a work around and get my Media Center features enabled, which is the whole reason I bought the Ultimate upgrade in the first place.

This thread on Vista64.net says you can't do it. Clean install only.

"I installed the Vista Ent Edition only to realize i actually want Vista
Ultimate. Now i have the ultimate CD and Key but when i run the setup from
withing Vista Enterprise, it tells me "You can't upgrade from Windows Vista
Enterprise to windows Vista Ultimate. You can upgrade to windows Vista
Enterprise". That's the actual message. Setup does not seem know that i am
already running Enterprise version."
