Is it possible to uninstall internet explorer?

If I want to use firefox or mozilla instead of internet explorer is there a way to uninstall internet explorer bc i hate it.
Because when I use my mozilla or firefox popups keep popping up in IE even though its not even my default browser
If its not possible to uninstall what do you reccomend doing? thanks alot

Not really; you can remove the shortcuts to it but there isnt a way to truly "remove" it from the regular XP licenses. Not that you would want to if there was because there are a lot of 3rd party apps that would break without it.

This doest sound like an IE problem, it sounds like an adware/spyware/malware problem.
 
haha yeah im not stupid i know what spyware is

im just syaing maybe instead of removing it since adaware and spybot dont seem to do the job, removing IE would work bc then i coudl just use mozilla with no popups no problems
kinda like tryin to find a shortcut around the system

You could actually remove it in 98/ME and early Win2k with IE Eradicator, though as said earlier, a number of program that depend on IE won't work. MS made sure that this was considerably harder with XP. They are also working hard to interweave Office 12 into the OS. It drives them nuts that Linux using Wine can be setup to run Office.
