Well heres the story.
I ordered a laptop from dell and for some reason the funds that I deposited in my bank account showed up late so I didnt have enough money to pay for the laptop. dell calls me the next morning and asks me if I would like to cancel the order. I told then yes and that I would order a laptop at a later time. I order the laptop 2 days later and the next day I receive a laptop. It was the one that I first ordered and cancelled the order (before they even built the thing so it shouldnt be here) so i figure that they just sent me this one and everything is peachy. Then a few days later i Look into my bank account and see that I have been charged for 2 laptops and that they were about to ship the second one. I call them and tell them not to ship the second laptop and they say ok. 2 days later I receive the second laptop which I refuse to accept so ups takes it back. I call dell to tell them that they have made an error and I want my money back that they took from my account immeadiately because it overdrafted my account. I have called 2 more people after that asking them to send me my money back and told them that I have refused shipping and that they know that its in ups' system. Here are ym questions

1. Is there any number that I can call and get someone to talk to from america that can actually fix my problem instead of telling me they dont understand?
2. Should I just go to my bank and fill out on of those unauthorized charge forms?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this has been steessing me out since this is my only bank account and its overdrafted and I only have like 200 dollars to survive on until I get that money back.

Thanks,
Rob

No. Outsourcing is GOOD for America. Just ask Dubya's old economic advisor. Learn to love it while you're flipping burgers for H1-Bs and illegal immigrants who have a nicer house and car than you.

some of them have realyl heavy accents.
I prefer CSR's that are located in Central America.

Go to your bank and tell them you order a laptop and that sent you two of them and charged you for two.

Do you prefer to pay the higher charges that would enable your service provider to emply CRSs in America and still make a decent profit?

(I've met a few Indian students here in Australia who worked for Dell back in India, they told me they had all sorts of tricks for dealing with (and getting rid of) irritating American customers, including speaking with a thick accent.)

Agree. They have a nicer house and car than you in India.

email is your friend. email them. might take some time but eventually will work out better. also complain. since you ordered 2 laptops i assume you should be able to get 2 $100 concession coupons.

So what you're saying is that those people are fvcking toolbags.

If you're giving customer support to people in America, speak the same goddamn way.

I don't know why people whine so much about Dell. I had to call them this weekend about an Laptop with a bad backlight on the LCD. I did have to wait on hold for half an hour but once I got a guy and told him what was wrong he set up a service call and someone is coming out later this week.

No hassles, no language issues (yes he was obviously in India or somewhere).

I'd recommend Dell to anyone I know but always recommend they get a longer warranty especially for laptops...

Does not compute. Half hour on hold is not a "hassle"? Whatever. I detest talking to Dell, whether the CSR is in India or Texas.

They're probably just sick of dealing with pigheaded American idiots.

Dell will hire whoever they want until America decides to take their money elsewhere. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I have been pretty calm about the situation so far. Only thing that pisses me off is that they know that the laptop is at the ups facility and I never even had the package in my possesion but they still want to keep my 900 dollars when they are a huge company. They made the error and I have to pay for it. I will be really pissed if the overdraft fees dont drop off.

Here's a newsflash for those GENIUS indians who take delight in doing their job VERY POORLY: If you don't want to deal with pigheaded American idiots, don't get a job in customer service for an American company!

TOOLBAGS! No way around it.

I don't mean to be a dick, but they did not make the original error. If you had the funds properly in your account when you bought the first laptop, then none of this would have happened.

Yes they made an error and they will correct it, but they will do so on their time line. You might be able to speed things up, but you might not be able to.

Well I figured a check given to me by bank one would show up instantly in my account just like when I deposit cash. I know that was my error. But they have made three errors to my one. I have asked them to cancel before it ships three times and they shipped it anyway. Im lucky I have cash on hand or i wouldnt be able to do anything.

Lesson learned: Do not order online using your debit card, use a credit card.

"But what if I don't have a credit card?"

Apply for one :)
