I doubt it only because the yolk fit's very snugly inside of that shell and the whites kind of lubricate it I guess.

the chalaze (?) is a thicker part of the white that holds the yolk in place to keep it from breaking, it weakens over time. i imagine youd have to be damn vigorous about it to break it while its stuffed in a shell.

the older the egg though, the more likely, as they have an air cavity that, i think, grows larger over time.

Was making the kids scrambled eggs and the thought crossed my mind is all.

I remember many years ago, a company (such as, or maybe RONCO) came out with an "in the shell" scrambler.
It was battery powered and had a small, oddly bent pin that you inserted into the egg after you used a built-in "piercer" to punch a tiny hole in it.
You inserted the "pin", rested the egg on a little cup, then pressed a button, causing the bent pin to spin at high speed, scrambling your egg.

Never used or even saw one, I just remember the commercials.

Edit: They still sell it!
