Is it possible to rip/burn 2 different things at once

Is it possible to use two different DVD or Blu Ray drives at once for ripping (downloading) or burning, or ripping & burning at once? EDIT: to or from the same drive

I have used dvd shrink on two drives simultaneously.

Also Nero can burn the same thing to two different burners at the same time; not sure if imgburn can do this or if you can make a different sessions for each burner; i think if you start two instances of imgburn it should work much like running two copies of dvd shrink.
