Is it possible to reset where your fingernail grows from?

So when you trim your nails, you trim the white (dead?) part off right. But if you cut it past the line and go into the "pink" part, the new nail will start growing there. So if you go too far, at quick glance, it looks like you have untrimmed fingernails, when in reality, your nails don't extend past the "meat" of your finger. So is it possible to fix this?

I hope I am being clear.

just wait till next cut. it is only white when something has scraped and or damagd the underside of the nail which is not nearly as strong. it will fix itself over time.

I actually have the same question. I bite my nails (so they go back real far) and it looks kinda dumb to see so much "nail" when essentially there's really none, I was wondering if this could be fixed as well.

Again, just stop biting them/cutting them so short.

The nail bed will slowly heal and grab back onto the nail. It takes time, though.

Cutting your nails too short is a big no-no. So is bting them.

My GF used to bite her nails. She bit them all the way back to the cuticle.

Her nails now grow normally with normal nailbed width and length. But it took time.

I really have no idea what you guys are talking about but I prefer having a little "overboard" length (where it doesn't attach to the finger).
