is it possible to remove a shortcut from the startup menu

im at work and theres this shortcut that was made for ALL USERS but the program is no longer there (it was spyware and was removed by one of the techs). now whenever my computer loads up it says this program cannot be found. any way to remove this shortcut without calling the techs again? it takes foreeeeeeeeeeeever for them to get around ... and thats for important stuff.

Sure - you can right-click (assuming you're an admin) on any shortcuts on the start menu and remove the link.

Assuming XP, you also might run MSCONFIG, which can also remove startup programs (in this case, starting primarily from the registry.)

see that is the problem ... im not admin. ive tried renaming, deleting, moving. no permissions. any loophole?

"registry editing has been disabled by your administrator"

man ... im pretty sure i'll be stuck with this for awhile. :)
