is it possible to re-attach surface mount resistors onto RAM?

i got some RAM from somebody in FS/T and they didn't package it correctly

several of the surface mount resistors have been knocked/scraped off due to the rough trip from oregon

is there any way to re-attach / re-solder these back on? i can see where they go and the RAM was inside a zip lock, so i have the resistors, i just don't know if i should bother trying this with a standard soldering iron or just ask for my $ back and hope the guy is a good trader (ie will give me my $ back)

i would prefer to fix the RAM if this is possible due to the low $ and it is somewhat unusual (pc200/1600 which is why it was cheap)

so any soldering/RAM experts want to give me a clue? thank you

:)

Can it be done? Sure, with a small tip solder iron and a steady hand, but it's not your fault they packaged it badly... Id get my money back and buy ram elsewhere. Or if you do keep it shoot for a discount since the goods were damaged. And please leave appropriate feedback once you get this sorted out so others know the poor packaging job this person does and how the handle it. It's something I very much want to know if I were to buy from them.

yeah, i know the best route is to just get my $ and not waste my time

i was mostly wondering if it was even possible

i found a web site that had some instructions on how to do it, looks like i would need a very small pointy soldering tip , which i don't have

oh well, thanks

im sure it can be done, i do this sort of thing at work all the time.

you have to consider one thing, memory is a very crucial part of your computer.
and you dont want to even give a thought that this can be its failure.

try and get your money back.

btw how was it shipped?
