Is it possible to put mpeg 1 on cd

Hi

I want to put my dv tapes on CD. Can I save them without degrade in quality. DV is awesome and I was hoping to save them as a a MPEG and play them on a DVd Player.

Does anyone know

Yeah, its called VCD. Make sure you have a DVD player that is capable of playing VCD's. go here for help..... VCDHELP.com

dv quality is higher than standard vcd, i think its better than s-vcd.

go to dvd players and find out what your player can handle,
svcd is better but harder to send out to our non computer friends to play on there PC'S.
In less than a year you will want a better DV camera....
get ready to start spending money....

I can use SVCD but I was hoping there would be a way to put dvd quality stuff on CD instead od dvdrs

well mini-dvd's Doom9.org
but you still need lots of storage for DV tape

what are you trying to do with the final tape...

if you want dv storage get a dv-r recorder.
