is it possible to mod an Elsa Gladiac Ultra into an Elsa Gloria III (quadro)?

Possible, in theory at least it should be no different then modding any other GF based board to a Quadro. Some people, however, have reported performing the mod and it not working(on random different manufacturers).

What you are doing is resetting the hardware to indentify itself as a Quadro, it should work.

While I haven't tried the Ultra, it worked fine here with Elsa Gladiac GTS.

What benefit did you gain from doing the mod? I have heard it only benefits 3d apps. Also did you flash the bios so that it comes up as a Quadro upon bootup?
Can you tell me how you did the mod?
thx in advance

With what I do, (no 3d modeling type stuff), I don't think anything has changed.
I did have some of the highest benchmark scores for 3dmark 2000 and 2001 using comparable systems, so maybe it did help?

Also flashed the Bios with Elsa's Gloria III, so it does boot as a Quadro2 Pro.
Did the same exact thing to a Visiontek GF2 GTS, including the Gloria III flash.
Followed the instructions at the site you list. Took less than 15 minutes to do.

I've got an Asus Geforce2MX modded to a Quadro2, and there really isn't too much of a performance difference with most of hte apps I've used. I'll try benchmarking with 3D Studio Max R4 eventually, when I have time to get around to it. Might not be worth teh risk of damaging the card, though
