Is it possible to merge two NTFS partitions?

I'm running really low on my system drive in Windows XP. I thought 5GB would be enough, but Windows doesn't seem to want to move the swap file on to another drive, so I'm killing 1.25GB of space right there.

I have more free space on the drive (it's the SCSI drive), and about 20GB on the old 7200RPM IDE. Can I merge two partitions, or am I going to have to wipe and reinstall, which would mean I'd need to move my Debian partition around too.

seems like partition magic used to do that stuff without a hitch

windows can do it though. what you do is delete the last partition, and extend the primary one into where the secondary one had been. they have to be consecutive on the disk for that i think. the windows drive manager can handle it all easily enough.

meaning, if you have c, d, and e partitions, and d is linux and c and e are ntfs, i dont think you could merge C+E then...but i could be wrong.

ive merged them before and havent had a problem, but i would back up anything critical just in case, ive done it multiple times without anything going wrong, but its always good to back stuff up when rearranging partitions.

ummm maybe I'm being dense but you have both as NTFS why don't you just make them one Dynamic drive?
