Is it possible to manufacture Cisco Routers cables?

I had a great idea! Considering how expensive cisco's cables are and they are lot's of them I need for an enterprise installation I'm planning to do, what about manufacturing it? I mean console cables and all the others, do they have some weird tech in or they are just overpriced cables with the Cisco logo on them? Could I get a friend I have who knows LOTS about electronic to manufacture them for me so I'll save hundreds of dollars?

Whatcha think? Is it possible?

Take into consideration that I don't live in the US and saving hundreds of dollars IS worth the effort and knowing they ain''t originals.

Thanks!

what cables? Console cables are a cinch to do, I replaced some, and built some extra long (50' or so) ones a while back.

Serial cables? I would just bite the bullet. How much time (now and/or later) wasted chasing cable problems offsets that cost? In most cases, it's very little.

anyone who would buy uncertified cables used for infrastructure devices made in some dudes basement just to save $5 is an idiot.

theres a lot more to it than just crimping 2 ends on...

Unless you own a cabling factory and the appropriate cad/cam systems it ain't gonna happen.

Plus there are already tons of places out there that sell the cables cheap.

Good luck with a stackwise cable, they look like miniture SCSI. But worse and smaller.

Plus cabling is the most important part of any network. I would NEVER cheap out on this aspect. The cables aren't really that expensive. All the other manufacturers do the same thing.
