is it possible to manually merge gmail threads?

Gmail has implemented so many changes with that its starting to piss me off. The email client has a new nasty habit of kicking you out if you try to log in with more than one IE browser window open. And as far as that goofy ass toolbar that I used to love, the latest iteration has lost its ability to suggestive search on my PC. I now have to reinstall the old version over and over to get it to work.
