Is it possible to make tomato soup with ketchup?

It seems like you can do it with some water, ketchup and maybe some spices. Anyone ever tried it? Like a poor man's tomato soup?

Probably not something that would taste too good.

Btw, Bradruth, lifer in ~500, let me be the first to congratulate you 🙂

nasty...

I once tried making pizza with ketchup since I was stupid and didn't know better. back when me < 12 years old

lets just say... nasty

yes. Homeless people come into resturants all the time and ask for just hot water. Then they use ketchup to make "tomato" soup.

i know some people that used to steal ketchup packets from the cafeteria on campus and go back to the dorms and make soup from it, cheap but damn, tastes awefull

WTF? Poor man's tomato soup? It'd cost a hell of a lot more than just buying a couple cans of tomato soup...

😕

(If it's $1 for 5 at Aldi there is probably a good reason.)
