is it possible to make scsi in raid

have a pair of u160 hd, adaptec 29160 scsi card, how any i make a raid setup, like those promise raid card does, and make one bigger drive??
please help!!!!!!

the 29160 is not good for raid, or i have to set it up, i am new on scsi stuff.
how?? any help?

i think you're asking if you can make a software raid setup? you can use windows 2000 or some versions of linux to make a software raid disk under a config like that.

if you're asking how to make a hardware based solution like the promise ata66 cards, sorry thats another technology all together and it can't be done. the promise raid thing is only possible because of a similarity someone noticed between their two products. It was mostly a dumb luck thing that we are able to modify ata66 cards into raid cards so easily.

As nutter said you can use the OS in some cases (but you cant boot off the array you create). Otherwise you are out of luck with the Adaptec card. You will need a RAID capable card.
