I saw a page on how to make a timeline in microsoft excel, but I was wondering if you could do something like that in the openoffice suite. If not, is there a good program I can use for this?

You should be able to pretty closely replicate that in OpenOffice. There isn't anything special there. You can rotate the text, resize the cells, use shapes to draw the outlines, import graphics, etc. You've just got to play around with it (same as you'd have to do in Excel).

I agree with mayest.

And the MS link merely gives instructions on how to manually create a time line in Excel. Just go ahead and follow those same instructions, but in OpenOffice Calc.

In case you ever need it in future, OO has a help forum here.
