Is it possible to make a line of best fit in excel?

First, since Nik hasn't yet had a chance to reply to this
SOFTWARE

Second, highlight the columns at the top, then double click the line between the colums.
You can select all of them and just double click in one place and it will make everything best fit.

Yea, I know i probably misspelled column.

Get a ti calc - makes short work of it.

If you made the graph already, I think you can rightclick on the data points and select "add trendline"

(you can have it show the formula too)

yeah and then you can pick what kind of trendline you want.

Using excel for this stuff is kinda hodge-podge though. Mathematica does a nice job, but I'm guessing you don't have access to it or something.

I was trying to figure out how to do this in staroffice calc - and it is really funky. . .

Here ya go:

1. Plot Data Using UN-Connected Points
2.Click on the chart to select it
3.Under Chart, select Add Trendline
4.Under Type, select the type of regression, linear, polynomial, etc.
5.If you want the equation go to the options tab and check "Display equation on chart"
