Is it possible to link three computers by wireless, one of which does not have a WNIC?

I have three computers I'm trying to connect for a game of Starcraft later tonight; two of these computers (a desktop and a laptop) have wireless cards that connect to a D-Link DWL-900AP, which in turn is connected straight into my university's network. My friend's desktop does not have a wireless card, so we're thinking of connecting the wireless router to his computer via ethernet cable and trying to get him to host a Starcraft game that way. I have no idea if this will work, however.

Has anyone tried this before? Any suggestions for what else I could do?

If you plan to use the Router as a Client Card, I.e. Conneting to your AP.

Nah! Not if the AP is in Gateway mode in oreder to connect to you computer.

However you can plug the AP to his computer (you need a crossover cable), and if will connect to yours but not to the University's source.

In the case of connecting the one machine to the Ethernet port, you'd have to either manually assign IPs, or configure one of the machines to act as DHCP server (may or may not have to be the wired PC). The DWL needs to be configured as a client access point, which is already is.

Note that this is not a "router". It's only a bridge/access point.

You can get a hub for like 5 dollars, you know. Even CompUSA has actual switches for under 20 dollars. Local PC shops probably have cheap ones. Or order one online, the cheapest option. An 8port switch for only 15 bucks at Newegg, or even cheaper if needed.
