Is it possible to "just be friends?"

I've tried this several times and each have failed miserably. Is it me or is it just not possible to "just be friends" after breaking up.

yep its possible... i say give it 6 months maybe even longer... unless you meet another girl that is... then it would definitetly be a lot quicker... but by then i don't think you'd wanna be friends with your ex anyway. :D

i have to say it's possible, as I am still very good friends with several of my past girlfriends...

needless to say, however, are the failures i've also had with 'let's just be friends' <-- there are usually more of the latter than the former

yea, that's what i have done... i say "sure, lets still be friends, but i can't have any contact with you for 6 months". they get pissy but *shrug* it works.

um okay. well i know that you're wrong... all it takes is for neither person to be attracted to the other. or you can have one be attracted the other and the other just ignore it :p

Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw...
"Remember, no matter how good looking she is, somewhere, someone is sick and tired of her sh*t.

Never worked for me either. Especially if your next significant other knows that you are still friends with your ex... makes a difficult situation.

I don't agree. If you were not attracted to each other why would you have been dating in the first place?

desperation :p

she could have put on some weight

and sometimes you just aren't attracted to them any more for whatever reason. i am 100% not attracted to the two ex's that i am friends with. would not want to do anything sexual with them.

I question the source of all these "ex"-whatevers. Makes it so final and cold when ties are often not so easily placed in neatly packaged labels.

Cheers ! :)

For a woman it is possible to "just be friends"

For a man it is impossible. No matter what we may say to their face we are still thinking about hitting it if she ever gives us a chance. Well unless of course she's fat.
