i updated my VIA 4 in 1 drivers and this affected the IDE devices, and my cd rom has disappeared from windows and device manager. i have a bootdisk that has generic cd rom drivers on, can i install these in windows to get basic cd rom support then i'll be able to use the windows cd and get drivers from that

oh it's windows 95 OS/2 by the way :(

Humm.. I would be looking more towards an issues with your IDE Controller rather then the CD-ROM and/or CD-ROM Drivers themselves.
