Is it possible to hook up speakers to your PS2?

I tried hooking up my Ms Digital sound system to my ps2 via USB cable but I got no sound out of it. Am I doing something incorrectly? or is this not possible at all?

There are no PC USB peripherals that work with PS2's currently.

yep yep, you have to buy the specifically made PS2 sound systems to hook a sound system up to it directly. You can hook your ps2 up to your reciever.

usb ports are for keyboard, mice, hard drive, modem, digital camera and printer. All are being made for the ps2, some are even available in japan.

i think Labtecs Surge-17 might work with it. It was desgined to work with game systems.

But what if I only have serial ports?

Do those speakers have an input for a standard headphone jack cable or is the audio stream need to be USB only? You can ANY speakers working for a PS2 as long as they have standard inputs.
