Is it possible to hook up coaxial to an hdmi monitor?

I have a monitor with HDMI and a COAX hookup going to my tv. However my monitor is a lot nicer than my TV and I want to use it as a television. I have an hd5870 and wanted to know if it is possible through some sort of connecter or will I have to use an hdmi cable box?

unless your monitor has a built in tuner, you will need a tuner (cable box, satellite, u-verse, converter box, etc) with an appropriate output (HDMI)

Your monitor can't decode the coax signal, thus the reason you need a tuner/box.
