Is it possible to hook up a 4.1 speaker system and 2.1 speaker system all at the same time?

Hi ladies and gentlemen,

I have the Audigy Platinum EX Soundcard with the live drive, an FPS2000 Cambridge 4.1 speaker system, and another Creative/Cambridge 2.1 speaker system. Is it possible to hook it all up to my computer at the same time, and if so, how would you recommend doing it?

Thank You,
Mike

I'm not sure exactly why you would want to do this, but here's how I would do it if I were you. You need to get three RCA splitter cables (like from Radio Shack) and split the signals for the front two speakers and the sub woofer. Then just run everything normally and it should work fine.

I want to do this cuz then I'll have a 6.2 speaker system. :) But, for some reason I don't think it can work...Right now I have the fps2000 speaker set hooked up to the Digital DIN output in the soundcard which runs to the subwoofer where the 4 speakers run out of that subwoofer by basic speaker wiring. I also have the basic Cambridge 2 speaker 1 subwoofer set that comes with a lot of computers like Dells (subwoofer has an regular 3.5mm plug cable, that would go into the speaker output of the computer, and the two speakers hook up directly to the subwoofer as well by just some basic speaker wiring).

I have one RCA splitter cable which basically has a 3.5mm male plug on one end and then 1 red and 1 white female rca plug on the other end. I'm not sure what you mean bakchoy about the 3 rca cables. Can you please go into a little more detail as to the exact connections for these 3 splitter rca cables or the entire setup? I really appreciate it....

If anyone else has any suggestions as well, I'm all ears. :) (or all eyes I guess...)

Thanks...
