Is it possible to have food particle stuck between my gum and my last molar?

I had my wisdom teeth taken out a few years ago. Recently I started feeling like there was food stuck back there (gets kinda sore) and I tried cleaning it with floss (whatever I could) but of course I can't just floss my gum off of my tooth.

Is there any way that food may have gotten stuck down there? If so, how does one go about getting rid of it?

I had a similar feeling a few years ago...it turned out it was just a small part of my gum that had gotten cut, then swollen. I noticed and kept stabbing it with my tongue, so it didn't go away for a long time...

get a pair of vicegrips and yank the offending tooth.
you'll be able to get at the pesky piece of food then.
