Is it possible to have a sensory overload of taste?

Not in a bad way, like hot or salty or sweet. But pleasurable.

Like something that tastes so good that you can't handle it?

Or is pleasure from taste all rated the same or a scale? Like a scale of shitty, ok, good, great, and best.

texture, smell, temperature and appearance also play their parts in the experience. i have yet to find something that tasted too good to eat. i have immediately lamented running out, however. just 1 more bite, pleeeeeeeease!

I have never had anything taste so good that I had to purge my mouth of it... as would be the case if it was to hot, salty, bitter... etc.
I think it is probably impossible for something to taste to good.

If something is too sweet it triggers the vomit reflex.

Most of the flavor of food is from the smell.

You can have an "overload" in that .... once something hits the "peak" of a certain flavor, a stronger version of that flavor tastes the same as the regular version ...

For example, Bitterness.
The taste threshold has been said to be approx 100 IBUs. Meaning you reach a peak point where your abillity to sense bitterness is "maxed out", and when things get "more bitter", you can't tell it's more bitter, due to the bitterness overload.

Not exactly the answer to your question, however, it is, technically an "overload" of taste :)

I bet a guy he couldn't eat a whole package of starburst sours. He opened them and mashed em into a ball and ate the whole thing. He cried while he did it.

Id imagine that was an overload. He said he couldnt taste anything for a few days.
