Is It possible to get this kind of FPS with a TNT 2 ultra?

Hey guys, i'm getting a really good deal on a TNT 2 ultra for 16 bucks (buying it from my friend, upgrading from a voodoo 2 heh)...

Anyway, i'm going to be building a system and i will, hopefully, be able to overclock a duron 600 @ 1000. My question is, will i be able to go above 120 fps in timedemo 1 of quake 3? Given that i will be playing in absolute crap mode (low quality + more config video hacks, i.e. vertex lighting, etc.) in 640 x 480 resolution?

I really don't want my fps dropping below 120 fps...

Umm, why? I don't think I've EVER got over 60fps (not that I have a killer system or anything). Isn't TV 30fps? And movies 25fps? Sorry, but I think that's funny :) Cheers!

I thought the human eye could only see up to 60fps or what it higher? What's the point of getting to 120fps if you can't tell the difference between anything above 60. Someone please clarify this :)

after playing enough, im convinced that the human eye seeing 60 fps is wrong.. personally, i think i can see a little jumpiness at anything below about 70.... but i digress
There is no way a tnt2 is gonna pull 120fps, but i have a p3 733 here at work with a 16mb tnt2 and it runs almost as well as my MX in my sig system....

You know good framerates are great and all but I want to be able to benchmark and brag about my system in playable configurations, I mean what is the use in turning off all effects and lowering the resolution to something like this when that isn't how you are going to play the game. Other than for braggiing rights I just don't get it, evn for bragging rights, I don't get it either. My machine will run 6000 3Dmarks @ 1024x768 with all effects on just like I would play a game, this system is just fine for any game I have thrwon at it, now there are those that will run at 8000 or better 3Dmarks with all settings like mine, set up for optimal visuals, and that is great I wish mine would do that, then there are those that will run better than 10000 marks with everything off, that means nothing to me.

Ugggh... not this again... OK, the basic idea is that TV only does 30 fps, however, because it was shot with an optical device (camera) most of those frames have motion blur which allows our eyes to interpolate the motion inbetween one frame and the next. Since most 3D engines right now can't do motion blur (and it isn't supported in any hardware but the newly assimilated 3dfx), the commonly agreed-upon fps for full interactivity in games (with no visible skipping between frames) is 60 fps. However, some people say they can identify frame skipping up to as high as 150 fps. The final fps where you are comfortable is actually up to the user.

And no, I'd doubt you could keep a min 120 framerate with a TNT2Ultra.

DOH :(

Reason why i need a greater than or equal to 120 fps is because Q3's physics is dependant on framerate, i.e. you can make the megahealth jump on dm13 with a constant 120 fps.
