Is it possible to get someone's IP address?

Hi,
Im new to the boards, and I thought this site might help me. I read another post about a paypal scam that was going around, and I saw that someone listed their IP address. I recently got scammed, and i was wondering if i can get the person's ip address from any email that he sent me. i sent the guy 6 hundred bucks for a digital camera, and he sent me nothing. so, if anyone knows a way to get his ip address, i would appreciate any help. thanx.

It depends on his email program really. Check the header of the file for the IP
Let me just tell you though, its pretty much a lost cause, he could use AOL which is dynamic IPing, so its pretty much untrackable.
You may get lucky and get a real IP, but then, you can't really do much with it. His ISP wont help you unless you get the police involved.
You should just post it here and let the ATEffect take over
