Is it possible to get carriers to match cell phone plans?

The offer is: 1000 local anytime minutes + free incoming local + free unlimited text messaging + unlimited mobile-mobile minutes, all for $39.95/month. Since I will be starting my residency as a doctor in a few months, I need free incoming and free text messaging (it will act as my pager).

First, does this offer sound good?

Second, I'd like to get sprint or cingular to try to match this offer. They don't have any comparable plans that cheap with free incoming. Has anyone had experience matching? What is the best way to get them to match? store? phone?

Thanks .. I'm new to the cellphone market and need a little help :)

Sprint has free incoming plans already, but I highly doubt you'd get cingular to match US Cellular.

US Cellular has to be inferior to the other two in some way if you don't want to use them, so why should the larger companies match them?

oh sorry, forgot to say it is $39.95

It isn't that US cellular is inferior, rather that it is more of a local market which is fine for me.

btw, sprint is $39.95 for unlimited incoming calls with only 300 outgoing minutes. I'm not sure about text messaging though.
